Insight Session – Wear Your Heart on Your Sleeve: How to Communicate Your Business Passion.

At the Sage Insights conference you’ll find lots of sessions on marketing and promoting your products. But isn’t marketing your personal brand just as important? You bet it is. That’s why we’ve asked Geni Whitehouse to join us to present: Wear Your Heart on Your Sleeve: How to Communicate Your Business Passion, (GEN50), on Wednesday, May 19 from 1:30-3:00.

Session Abstract: Are you tired of getting lost in the crowd? In today’s economy, the people who succeed are the ones who know how to make an impact. They know their strengths and they can communicate them succinctly. They are the ones who get promoted, survive layoffs, and constantly find new client opportunities. And they make the people around them better by association. From staff to owners, everyone on your team needs a strong personal brand that helps set your organization apart. In this session, you’ll learn the secrets to creating and promoting a personal brand – so that everyone on your team can have more confidence and make a greater impact on their clients and prospects.

The presenter: Geni Whitehouse. She’s been called the “comedian CPA.” A self-proclaimed nerd, former technology executive and CPA firm partner, Geni Whitehouse has made it her mission to eliminate boring from the world of presentations. From sales tax, to Sarbanes-Oxley, to International Financial Reporting Standards, no subject can remain boring once she works her magic. She aptly uses her southern accent, circuitous career history, and burning love of all things techy to craft the perfect message for every audience. By combining “unique” visual aids with a high-energy delivery, Geni can make any subject, no matter how nerdy, come alive. Geni’s spirited presentations are equally informative and entertaining, with plenty of audience interaction. Geni believes her mission as a presenter is to understand a subject well enough to approach it from an angle that will not only educate her audiences—but will resonate with them.  Check out her web site: www.evenanerd.com.

Insights Session – Creative Wows that are Winning Business

At the Sage partner conference, Insights, Joo Sohn DeView and I will be hosting a session entitled, Creative Wows that are Winning Business, (GEN48), on Wednesday, May 19 at 3:15. This is the fourth year that we’ve offered this session because it continues to be one of the most popular sessions at Insights. We’re privileged to have Lisa Kianoff, president of L. Kianoff & Associates, moderate this session. In an effort to make this session as valuable to you as possible, I am posting the session abstract and inviting all registrants to share their ideas and questions ahead of time so we can address them in the session.

“Wow!  How come I never thought of that?”  That’s likely to be your reaction when you hear your fellow peers share some of the strategies and tactics that they are implementing in their businesses with truly “wow” results!

What makes this session so valuable is that your peers share ideas that are producing results. It would be wonderful to begin the conversation before the conference even begins, so please share YOUR ideas, thoughts and questions below.

Question: If you could leave this session with one piece of information, new skill or new tool that would make it worthwhile (maybe even pay for the conference!), what would it be? Please post your response below.
